Although I’ve taken a long hiatus from blogging, I wanted to update my blog so that I continue to share what’s important to me. After a lot of thought, I decided to go with it and hope you’ll stick around for the journey.
That’s why I’ve changed my blog name recently. In the last year I have spent a lot of energy on changing my mindset and a heavy focus on exercise and more basic gluten free nutrition.
I made some radical changes as far as my go-to recipes, began meal-prepping, and focused on getting consistent. I’ve found that the discipline involved helps spark joy in me and supports my life.
When life gets busy I pair down to the essentials, the things that must be done. Included in that list is a fitness routine!
Especially in this year, during a global pandemic, my fitness routine has been a priority and an anchor in helping me physically and emotionally in dealing with the ever changing world we live in.
This last year I’ve focused on building strength using Kayla Itsine’s BBG Stronger and Kelsey Wells’ Pwr and Pwrathome programs.
As a result of using the pwrathome program last year and a coincidental gap in our gym access last spring/summer, we started to work on home gym equipment and routines to keep fit at home. I am currently on the pwr program and use equipment at home to build strength.
Now there may be a shortage of equipment since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic closures but if you’re looking to build a home gym but you can definitely get results from bands, body weight exercises, and a regular fitness routine.
If you like the High Intensity Interval Training style, Kayla Itsines released a new workout program that requires ZERO equipment! You can literally do it ANYWHERE! Another option for strength training with minimal equipment is Kelsey Well’s PWRATHOME, which I love for low impact strength training.
