Today I got up early and made a simple fruit/veggie bowl as breakfast.
Strawberries, carrot, and kiwi
Training
I grabbed a cup of coffee and headed to the gym around 7:30. I warmed up with a brisk walk on the treadmill for about 10 minutes and then headed into the weight room and used the cybex machines to train my arms, core, back, legs, and hips. I felt great, but exhausted when I left!
As a post training protein boost I made an omelette at home!
Super simple Omelette
- 3-5 eggs
- shredded veggies or protein
In an olive oil-sprayed skillet, whisk eggs (3-5 depending on serving size). Cook on low heat until firm, between 5-7 minutes. Once firm, add veggies/protein, fold and after a minute flip. Cook another minute or so until done and serve with garnish or fruit!

On training and running
I’ve been thinking about running in a completely different way recently. When I trained for my first marathon three years ago this was my motto:
“Sleep, run, eat, repeat”
These days I’m taking a more balanced approach with my body. I need the strength training to balance out the endurance. What a difference it makes. The older I get, the more that is so important!
Hope you have a great weekend!
