Coupons and Kiwi

Today was a beautiful day!  After waking up and preparing everyone breakfast…

Cantaloupe, scrambled eggs and blueberries

I went for an early jog and finished 4 miles just as the weather turned steamy with humidity. I can’t believe how much energy I felt once I got started.  I have to admit that I didn’t think going Paleo would change my energy level the way it has.  I am absolutely amazed at how great I feel today.  I got done with my run and could have probably doubled the length of my run if I hadn’t needed to move along with responsibilities of the day.

One of those responsibilities, was a trip for groceries in the afternoon.  We easily navigated the perimeter of the store and got a great variety of seafood, meats, vegetables and fruits. (yes I was the weirdo taking a photo at the checkout line!)

As we waited to check out, I observed the person in front of us use coupons on all sorts of packaged foods to reduce her final bill by over half of the total retail cost.   I contemplated briefly how none of the coupons we’d seen in the Sunday paper would affect our grand total. Then I remembered how wonderful I felt all day and felt so grateful to be able to select groceries that will nourish my family and keep us healthy for the long term.
How do you navigate the grocery store?  What are the things that energize you?
