I have a new go-to breakfast, people….the Protein Shake!!!
In this shake:
- 1 banana
- 5 ice cubes
- 1 scoop Rainbow Light Protein powder
Today’s lunch was a chicken Salad salad =:)
Here it is again, just to get back to smoothies…
Yes, it’s true…after a full month of eggs EVERY MORNING…hard-boiled, scrambled, etc… it’s time for a change and time for a happy belly. Please!!!
So the third photo was a professionally blended smoothie from a local vegan eatery Karma Road, in New Paltz, NY. They make a Peanut-butter-in-my-chocolate smoothie that is just like eating Reese’s peanut butter cups…with chocolate rice milk and banana. Matthew and I went there on a mini-date Monday evening and it remains my favorite karma-restoring place post-veganism-due- to-gluten-free-mandate. Yum. (They also sell gluten free rice krispie treats, which I will hopefully be able to consume some day when the aforementioned happy belly makes an appearance). A brief note on this… I was reading a great blog by The Paleo Mom in which there’s a discussion about the length of time it takes to heal a gut from gluten. She does a super job explaining the details of this process in an understandable way. Thank you, Sarah!
At home, I’ve been using a new protein powder by Rainbow Light called the Chocolate Protein Energizer. Seriously, people, within 5 minutes of consumption I’m ready for whatever comes next. And that’s saying a lot considering the current state of villi-affairs.
I might actually make this the breakfast AND lunch shake.
Now for the home front: My baby’s ready to rattle and roll. Peace!
